My favourite photo of the week - Field Forget-me-not growing on a grassy bit which one of the local business parks is encouraging to grow as wildflowers. Our magnolia tree out back is starting to bloom. When we first moved here, we thought it was the non-blooming type. After a few years we took down a couple hackberry trees (they're known to hollow out in the middle), which gave the magnolia a lot more sun. A year or so later it started to bloom! #BloomScrolling #SilentSunday

Someone who I love very much has recently come out as trans and chosen the name Violet. And now I'm extra delighted when I see the volunteer violets scattered throughout my yard.

I've come to love all the clovers. They look ordinary from a distance but they have all these intricacies up close. This one is trifolium hybridum, or alsike clover.

This is the 2nd summer for my purple coneflowers. Last year it was about a 1/3 the size and this year is has already put on more blooms than all of last year.

Purple coneflower is a favorite of mine and a friend was kind enough to let me pull some out of his garden two years ago. That's my favorite way to garden: cheap/free and an early reward 👍.
