Another one I hadn't planned to write a #blog on: John Scalzi's Interdependency series. I enjoyed it, but finished it with a sense that it had more potential than it managed to realise, so did a #review to work out what it was I thought was missing.

PSA for people with #Wordpress blogs: do you know that you can turn off comments on old posts?
In the last few months I have noticed a significant uptick in spammy comments on my Wordpress blogs (I have 4).
Well there is a way to remedy all that: you can simply turn off comments on old blog posts by going to:
Settings -> Discussion -> and checking "Automatically close comments on old posts"
(You can even determine the "oldness" of posts, for example, older than 7 days, 14 days... anything you'd like)
Enabling this made all the difference for me. I could not recommend it more.

A more positive #blog today. I did a #review of Pluto, an excellent short anime about robots. At a time when all we hear is how AI will either drown us in slop, or take over the world (or both), it's quite nice to engage with an #anime that takes a more old-fashioned approach to robots, while still exploring some fundamental philosophical themes.
It's eight emotionally gut-punching episodes, and I'd certainly recommend it.

现在这个博客的“建站”日其实应该是 2020 年 10 月 29 日，时隔多年之后终于趁着建长毛象的时候域名买都买了克服了拖延症重回独立博客界。虽然用 Wordpress 的时候也挺高产，但远不如迁移到 hugo 之后来得上心，遂用静态博客启用的时间（2023 年 5 月 31 日）开始作为现在这个博客的建站纪念日。这一晃竟然就是第二个周年的博客总结了，不折腾如我装修小记也写到第四篇了。时光飞逝岁月如梭啊。
