Because she knows when I'm going on a walk. Pacing intently, tail thumping against the furniture, she looks at me with those eyes, then runs off to the laundry room where she knows the harness is.

But do I want to deal with the tugging and pulling, snuffling and sniffing?

Oh . . . probably yes.

Retro project.

First shot at making a small wooden box, this for a 4-CD blues/gospel mix I intend to give as a gift to someone who still enjoys the format.

Joints are mitred and pinned as can be seen if you look closely.

Some serendipitous space beauty to start your weekend.

NASA's new PUNCH mission, designed to study the solar wind, just took this ethereal image of the Moon passing the (blocked out) Sun. The Moon's night side is facing us, but it's beautifully lit by Earthshine.

$During commissioning, PUNCH’s NFI instrument captured this image of the new Moon as it passed by the Sun in the sky on April 27, 2025. The new Moon appears full, because it is illuminated by Earthshine (sunlight reflected off Earth). The image helped the PUNCH team confirm that the Moon will not obscure NFI’s view of the corona and solar wind. The dark circle near the bottom is the shadow of NFI’s occulter, which hides the Sun. The occulter, which was not yet fully aligned with the Sun, is surrounded by a narrow bright ring of diffracted light. Around that is a large, hazy circle of stray light glinting off the occulter (the Moon is inside that circle). Outside that is a small, dimmer region of the sky that is less affected by glint.$

Apparently Lizzo wore a shirt like this on SNL, which I think is great.

We all have a huge laundry list of critical causes to support as we battle fascists, but it's probably the economic chaos from #Trump #tariffs that will end this regime-- he's already hemorrhaging support over this!

Remember, the whole point of protesting is to be visible and give permission to people who voted for him to switch sides publicly.
