A small hill at sundown. On the top of the hill is a small, leafless tree: just a trunk and a few sparse branches. Placed in the top of the tree is a house that, while it is small, still looks entirely too large to be supported by the tree. The underside of the house is bright pink and yellow from the sun on the horizon. The house has a door in the front and a glowing yellow window on the side. It has a dish antenna sticking out of the roof. Hanging from a lower branch is a mailbox. The horizon glows pink and yellow, giving way to a dark blue sky. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

To our left is a wooden desk with a yellow shelving unit stacked on top of it, and is is a mess: Piled high with clutter, the drawer left open, things haphazardly stacked on the shelf. To the right, there is small stand, a wooden folding chair, a framed picture on the floor and a barely-visible radiator. The framed picture is leaning against a wall, where there are also wall light (which is lighting the entire picture) and a large, oval-shaped mirror in a white frame. In the mirror, we can see into the room behind us, where there is another shelving unit (also yellow) that is covered with notes and drawings. There is also a blue stool, an end table with a lamp on it, and a doorway to another part of the apartment.

he's escaping again. the industrial innovator, internet jester, jewish billionaires for hitler chairman. but he's not really escaping, is he. every form of escape he entertains is his prison. his doors of perception, cleaner than ever, revealed themselves to be the doors to his cell. his reality is being completely distorted yet also made more bright, unbearable, and honest than ever before. he decides he should hurry up uploading his brain to a computer, he can't take much more of this body.

Castles in the sky: the fantastical drawings of author Victor Hugo – in pictures

Although better known for his sprawling Romantic novels The Hunchback of Notre-Dame and Les Misérables, celebrated French author Victor Hugo spent much of his time drawing. A collection of about 70 of his sketches will soon be on display at the Royal Academy in London, in an exhibition bringing together caricatures, travel drawings and landscapes.
