A small, strange figure wearing a metallic suit and giant mask stands against a reddish sky. The telephoto view allowed for a unique perspective on the city, showcasing the beauty and mystery of the fog as it clung to the tops of the buildings. It was a breathtaking sight, one that could only be truly appreciated from a distance. As the sun began to rise, the fog slowly started to dissipate, revealing the familiar skyline of Seattle.

Streetartwall. The magnificent mural of two figures merging into one another was sprayed onto the exterior wall of a multi-storey tower block. It is a collaboration between two artists with two different styles. The mural is painted in black, gray and white and shows two human figures reaching up to the waist, consisting of lines, arcs and patterns. The figure on the left by the well-known artist "Huariu" is somewhat darker with infinite hatching, patterns and lines. Opposite it is the figure of "Jio", which consists of many curved arches. The heads overlap and cover each other in the mouth, nose and eye area and become one. Fantastic. (Note: It is the very first mural by Jio Tattoo)
Info: "The Merging" depicts a meeting beyond the illusion of identity, of form. Where two merge into one. Where the same and only source recognizes itself in the other, in a different expression of itself. In this phenomena, all boundaries melt, ones identity ceases to be, the ego is no longer. What is left is a presence, still, timeless, silent, boundless, endless. (Huariu)

Most of the leaves are down on the ground by now, but a few trees are quite obstinate and refuse to denude themselves.

And while a blustery wind will manage to rip off most of what remains, a few leaves will implacably stick it out through all of winter and into spring.

I just really admire stubbornness.

Years ago, when our families were young and my parents still alive, we all gathered together for Thanksgiving. Two sisters-in-law had a friendly, annual rivalry for who made the best mashed potatoes.
