"include at least one goal focused on [my] personal professional development and [let my manager know] how can [they] help support [me] in in these goals (or in general) for the upcoming year”
as an admin, no one gives a shit about my professional development so this seems like a trap
plus, this is a manager who was instrumental in making my accommodation process extraordinarily difficult

@actuallyautistic @autistics #ActuallyAutistic anyone else ever experience a colleague saying something like "Let's grab a coffee.”; “I'd love to catch up and hear about your vacation.”; etc. and never do even though they do with everyone else.
and i get the social lubrication implications to these sorts of interactions, but it pisses me off that it’s ok for them to blow me off, but it’s apocalyptic if in their eyes i fail at some equally meaningless overtures.
My brain's been serving up some real darkness lately.
(And when an #ActuallyAutistic brain latches onto something, it COMMITS 🙃)
So I'm reminding myself that in this world (especially at this time) ✨#Autistic Joy✨ is an act of defiant resistance.
And I'll be damned if I don't remember to stand in awe of all I've weathered, and of our #neurodivergent culture as a whole.

…the only way to get through pre- and post-op was to keep my eyes closed to try to minimize the stimulus…
