The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)On my wife's birthday it's a tradition to watch a movie of her choice, no matter if it's not my kind of film at all. My wife likes musicals... I don't. 😏 But, having said that, one of my favorite childhood films is actually a musical: The Blues Brothers. And last year we watched The Little Shop of Horrors, which I quite liked. This year my wife chose The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and once again I thought it was entertaining. I liked the absurdity and the taboo-smashing subject matter, especially when you regard the film in its contemporary context: in 1975 being gay or transsexual was not at all socially accepted yet. Also, I suspect The Rocky Horror Picture Show had at least some influence on Freddie Mercury, The Cure and Tim Burton.
