@cohanf That's what I suspect, there must be reasons outside of the movie itself, and some form of misogyny is often a safe bet.
I guess I'd need to read what conservative nerds are complaining about, but I really don't want to, I need a break from all that awfulness

It's a perfectly serviceable movie, maybe better than average, so I don't get why it bombed and others of the same genre didn't. ::shrugs::

@SrRochardBunson I've watched the trailer and I think I'll like it, if not, you'll have to double the zero euros I intend to pay XD And no problem with the subtitles, I'm used to turning them on when I have trouble with the accents or audio. But it's a shame I've discovered Glen Hansard just after he died.

finished watching Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping
7 Days in Hell (2015) and Tour de Pharmacy (2017) were very niche but hilarious. This one belongs with them, but it's way less unhinged, maybe because it got a theatrical release and they tried to appeal to a bigger audience.
Still, I laughed a couple of times, but it made me miss the other two.

wants to read Mood Machine
Found it through: www.404media.co/the-digital-pa

"Liz Pelly refers to this process as “Muzak-ing”—the conversion of media from discrete works of art with a discernible context and author to anonymous background noise meant for passive consumption at the gym or while relaxing at home."

+1000 points for taking inspiration in P. polycephalum and some cool biology concepts
-♾️ points for misusing them to justify whatever the writer wanted to happen
-♾️ points for me, for spending the whole movie yelling: that's not how that works!

= 👎 for the movie and 👎 for me as a viewer.
