Her only crime was not murdering enough normals.

+ 1 point for John Waters' worldview and sense of humour
+ 1 point for Kathleen Turner
+ 3 points for Three's Company references, including an unexpected Don Knotts painting
- 1 point for the pun with "Serial" and "Cereal"

The white sensei was easily the funniest character on The Paper Tigers. Thank you @klu9

Stuck in a single location with a speculative biology monster, and the characters aren't the absolute tools you expect them to be. That's enough for me, I don't need it to be as good as Carpenter's The Thing.

+1 For featuring ferrofluids as a living, spiky menace, which apparently was a thing around 2010 (Jennifer's Body and John Dies at the End come to mind)
-1 For the shaky cam, but I understand they had to hide the low budget effects somehow

I actively didn't watch it on 2023 because I thought the whole Barbenheimer thing ridiculous. My mistake.

finished watching C.H.U.D.
C.H.U.D. stands for Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers... or does it?

This B movie is surprisingly watchable despite taking itself too seriously. Maybe it's the gritty urban setting, making it look like a 70s, socially conscious, cop drama... This gives it a patina of respectability, but then you have lightbulb-eyed rubber monsters straight from the 50s' cheapest sci-fi, which I respect but I understand that it's not a well respected film staple.

Look, it's a weird combo, and I like weird combos. Also John Goodman is on this for a few seconds, so I give this movie a heartfelt 👍. But I hope the sequel is sillier.
