Uncommon opinion: This game is OK. The physics aren't *quite* there, but it plays well enough, and is extremely chill. Just a peaceful, stress-free way to pass time. The variations on Super Mario World music are pretty cool.

Not a great game by any stretch of the imagination, but not terrible either. Not something I'd generally recommend, but also not something that'd I'd put on a "worst games ever" list. At least not the SNES version. I've never played the others, so I can't speak to those.

100% completed on Retro Achievements.

finished playing Super Adventure Island II
I hate fake floors so much.

Bit of a departure from the usual Adventure Island style of run right while collecting fruit to not die: this game is an exploration platformer. Fairly linear, but with a bit of backtracking to find optional power-ups that will make later stages easier. Not a terribly difficult game, but can be a bit tough at the beginning while you're at your weakest. Or at least that's where I died the most. And somehow I found the second boss to be the hardest one.

Random battles on the overworld map got old fast, but otherwise pretty fun. 100% completed on Retro Achievements.

It's... fine. I read some of the manga because the concept seemed interesting, but it didn't really hold me in the long term. The anime does an OK job of it, but it's pretty plain, not much detail in anything. It still looks all right, just the bare minimum to look as its supposed to. And the manga can already be a bit tough to follow at times with how rapidly the story progresses, so having things condensed even further for the anime doesn't really help.

Not a bad show, but I wouldn't suggest going out of one's way to watch it.

I confess, I was kinda bored at the beginning of this. Thought maybe it wasn't for me. Then the story picked up, and things got so weird I couldn't *not* see it through. Quite the ride.

"A giant invincible monster which could ravage our entire country and kill us all has been lying dormant at the bottom of this lake for millions of years. Let's irritate it by dumping a bunch of chemicals in there!" Didn't really think that one through eh?

Really good dioramas in this one. Though considering how much screen-time Varan got, there wasn't really all that much destruction. Needs a few less shots of rockets firing, a few more of buildings falling.

Needed more rampaging.

But seriously. That was incredibly fun to watch. Kinda wish they'd knocked down a few more buildings, but they still manage to hit the major points of the arcade game reasonably well.

finished watching The Avengers: United They Stand
Boy, that sure was written in the 90s. But anyway...

That was all right. I like how the show featured characters who otherwise tend to be sidelined. When you think of Avengers, you probably think of Captain America, Iron Man, Thor... nope. They appear briefly in the intro and get cameo episodes, but otherwise don't feature in the show. Instead we have a team led by Ant Man, which includes Wasp, Hawkeye, Falcon, Tigra, Scarlet Witch, and Vision. And technically Wonder Man, but he spends almost the entire series captured or otherwise incapacitated. I wasn't following the comics at the time, so I'm not sure whether this was the active team there or whether they were chosen just for the show, but either way I think it made things more interesting.

(And yes, I'm aware that all of these folks have been Avengers at some time or another, and that Ant Man and Wasp were founding members. Not the point.)

My biggest complaint really, is that the show ends on a cliffhanger which suggests there were supposed to be more episodes, perhaps another season entirely. But no, just 13 episodes which fail to wrap up all the plot points they introduce. Lame.

I'm not sure how I feel about this one. It started off not quite as exciting as its predecessor, got a bit better in the middle, and then... what was that ending? Kinda gives the feeling of a "made-for-TV" follow-up. It's fine, I guess, but I can't see myself ever re-watching it.

Pop culture's a funny thing. Despite never watching the film in my entire life, I already knew how pretty much the whole thing went, purely from references in other media.

But now that I have watched it, that was amazing. Instantly one of my favourite movies. So much fun.

I've never played the game, but started watching this anyway out of sheer curiosity. And then I kept watching for the spectacle. I don't know what to say except... WTF? That was a trip. Took me a while to really understand what was going on, but overall I enjoyed it.

That fight scene was hilarious. I'm just going to assume all Godzilla movies are comedies going forward. And I loved the dioramas that were built for this one.

I've not watched the original, nor read the manga, so I can only judge this remake by its own merits. Overall I enjoyed it. At first I wasn't sure about the art style; it felt a bit like "video game cutscene made in-engine". But it grew on me by the end.
