finished watching Mothra vs. Godzilla
Mothra used string shot! It's super effective!

finished watching The Avengers: United They Stand
Boy, that sure was written in the 90s. But anyway...
That was all right. I like how the show featured characters who otherwise tend to be sidelined. When you think of Avengers, you probably think of Captain America, Iron Man, Thor... nope. They appear briefly in the intro and get cameo episodes, but otherwise don't feature in the show. Instead we have a team led by Ant Man, which includes Wasp, Hawkeye, Falcon, Tigra, Scarlet Witch, and Vision. And technically Wonder Man, but he spends almost the entire series captured or otherwise incapacitated. I wasn't following the comics at the time, so I'm not sure whether this was the active team there or whether they were chosen just for the show, but either way I think it made things more interesting.
(And yes, I'm aware that all of these folks have been Avengers at some time or another, and that Ant Man and Wasp were founding members. Not the point.)
My biggest complaint really, is that the show ends on a cliffhanger which suggests there were supposed to be more episodes, perhaps another season entirely. But no, just 13 episodes which fail to wrap up all the plot points they introduce. Lame.
finished watching The Son of Kong
If that's Kong's son, where's his girlfriend?
I'm not sure how I feel about this one. It started off not quite as exciting as its predecessor, got a bit better in the middle, and then... what was that ending? Kinda gives the feeling of a "made-for-TV" follow-up. It's fine, I guess, but I can't see myself ever re-watching it.
finished watching King Kong
Pop culture's a funny thing. Despite never watching the film in my entire life, I already knew how pretty much the whole thing went, purely from references in other media.
But now that I have watched it, that was amazing. Instantly one of my favourite movies. So much fun.
finished watching NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE
I've never played the game, but started watching this anyway out of sheer curiosity. And then I kept watching for the spectacle. I don't know what to say except... WTF? That was a trip. Took me a while to really understand what was going on, but overall I enjoyed it.
finished watching King Kong vs. Godzilla
That fight scene was hilarious. I'm just going to assume all Godzilla movies are comedies going forward. And I loved the dioramas that were built for this one.
finished watching Fist of the North Star: HOKUTO NO KEN
I've not watched the original, nor read the manga, so I can only judge this remake by its own merits. Overall I enjoyed it. At first I wasn't sure about the art style; it felt a bit like "video game cutscene made in-engine". But it grew on me by the end.
finished watching Plants Behaving Badly
The idea of meat-eating vegetables will never not be bizarre. Also TIL there are orchids that pretend to be female bees so as to trick male bees into trying to mate with them, in order to attach pollen to the bees to be brought to another flower.
Plants are weird.
finished watching Earth's Tropical Islands (Earth’s Tropical Islands)
Hawaiian gobies see 100+ metre waterfalls and think: "Yes. This is my destiny. I will climb this or die trying." And not all of them die trying. Wild.
This series was fascinating to watch. Islands are cool.
finished watching Godzilla Raids Again
The fight between Godzilla and Anguirus was so amazingly goofy. Wonder what they did with the body though. Cook up some Anguirus steaks?
finished watching Godzilla
Despite being a fan of Godzilla, I've never actually watched any of the movies. I saw part of the American version of the first film, but didn't care for it at all, and shut it off part-way through. But I've finally found time to watch the original Japanese version, and it's a much better film. I really enjoyed it, and look forward to watching more Godzilla movies. If I can ever make time for them.
