I love the expressions in this book. Tandri's face when Amity first shows up was hilarious.
This was every bit as excellent as the original novel. Strongly recommended.

finished reading Storm Front
It was all right. Nothing much to say about it really. I think I would've liked it more had I read it twenty years ago, but somehow it just doesn't feel like what I'm looking for today, though I'd be hard-pressed to explain exactly why. Still, I'll probably pick up more from the series should I happen across them in thrift shops, just as I did with this one.

@Diplodocus I think I saw the term on some amateur writing site. Bit of a popular genre in such places lately, hard to find stories that stand out.
But yes, this series is going to keep me entertained for a while.

stopped reading Doubleblind
Picked it up from the thrift store hoping for exciting space adventures with ass-kicking female lead. Seven chapters in and so far all I see is whiny romance with a side of interplanetary politics. I'm out. Gonna take this to the little free library down the road and find something more my speed.

finished reading Dungeon Crawler Carl
Goddammit Donut.
That was fun. After reading so many "isekai" novels and manga, I'm a little burnt out on the whole litRPG concept. But this book was sitting there on the shelf with multiple staff recommendations, so I figured why not at least try the first volume. And I'm glad I did. It doesn't just check off a list of tropes like so many other stories, but rather does its own thing within a similar framework. I'll be picking up the second book next shopping trip.

Never in my life have I wanted to punch a villain so badly.
The first couple chapters were really depressing, and I was regretting starting this book just before bed. But chapter three turned things around pretty quickly, and from there I had a great time reading this. I recommend it to anyone who loves books in general.

finished watching Mothra
Mothra's screech sounded suspiciously similar to the baby Metroid's cry in Super Metroid. I am convinced the latter directly sampled the movie.
Some of the best dioramas I've yet seen in a kaiju movie. That was amazing. Though I wonder about the feelings of the people who put all that hard work into them, only to see them smashed to pieces.
My new favourite of all the old kaiju movies I've watched so far.

Fantastic. I wasn't sure about it when I picked this up, but it was a staff recommendation at the store, so I gave it a chance. Didn't take long at all to grab and hold my interest.

I think I missed something between seasons. Grey Hulk just sort of... appears?
Anyway, that was pretty good. For a 90s show. I appreciate how the second season brought in more Marvel heroes.

A show staring a cast of catgirls that manages to make all of them unappealing. Catgirls have gotten a free ride for too long; it's about time someone put them in their place.
Frequently disgusting. Had fun watching it.
