I have been incredibly lucky with my coming out, and I know it. Apart from my ex-wife's initial reaction, I have been met with nothing but support and acceptance. In some occasions, it goes even beyond that, and that acceptance comes with a dollop of kindness and love on top.
Take today, for example. I was feeling under the weather so I called in sick and went to the doctor. My GP was busy so I had to go to another doctor in the clinic, to whom I had to explain the discrepancy between my presentation and the name and gender in my file. After he asked me about HRT, he added that he had a lot of respect for trans people because he couldn't imagine how hard it must be to take this step and asked how I was feeling about it and what my experience had been like so far.
A bit later, picking up the 3-year-old at the creche, there was only one teacher left, a very sweet and friendly one who has babysat the kids a few times and is the closest to us there. She apologised that she hadn't spoken to me all week, but she was always busy when I was there, and she really wanted to tell me how much she admired and respected what I had done. Also, she said she and another teacher remarked how much happier I seemed now and that that in turn made her very happy. ♥️ I ended up staying a bit longer to talk to her about transition and, well, just girly things in general.
I am truly blessed. I never imagined when I started coming out that this path would have had so much starlight illuminating it. I know there will be transphobia and some bad moments in the future, but when they do happen I can take solace in all the kindness I have received so far. This is how it should always be.

I actively fight for disability justice and will discuss that here as much as I'll share my love for anime and manga (maybe a little more tbh). I often write essays analyzing media or discussing anime history and you'll find a surprising number of times that those two topics intertwine in my works.
I tend to dig old media formats in general and love weird retro tech! I still avidly enjoy my growing VHS and LaserDisc collections. I have quite the board game collection too with some real oddities in there.
While I am a big supporter of content warnings and you'll see me use them often, you won't find them on educational posts or on anything discussing the realities of my life as a disabled trans person. I will however, always make sure these posts have appropriate hashtags so you can filter them out of your feed. If you need to protect your peace by not following or blocking me, I take no offense and completely understand. I hope you'll understand that not censoring the realities of my life from the world is part of how I protect mine.
I'm often stuck inside as an immunocompromised person in an ongoing pandemic (COVID isn't over and I take it seriously) so I'll rarely turn down a good conversation! Or if you just want to hear me info dump on obscure trivia of some kind that I'm researching for my next big article.

So today, I will have a teeny, tiny needle jabbed into my face a couple hundred times. With each stab it will have an electric current turned on to kill a hair follicle.

I am not looking forward to this at all. Not all trans women/transfemme people get electrolysis on their face but I am.

I have a breast growth question. I have read and heard from multiple sources that I should not expect any changes in body shape in the first 3 months (and sometimes even beyond that point), that the fat redistribution won't happen overnight, etc etc. And so I was fully prepared to wait and not fret too much about when my boobs or hips were going to start growing.
But then, this week the bras that I bought well before beginning HRT and that had always felt snug and comfortable were not feeling so snug and comfortable anymore. I noticed they started leaving significant marks on my skin and the underwire was poking my sideboob and armpit a bit. I loosened the shoulder straps, which helped alleviate the problem a bit, but it still didn't feel right.
I didn't take any measurements before going on hormones, but then I remembered that early on I did take some pictures of my breasts, for future reference. I scrolled through my pictures, and then took off my clothes and stood in front of my mirror... and I gasped. There is a very significant difference, specially in the left breast. It's really noticeable, even with just a passing glance. It's not from weight; in fact, I lost a kilo since starting HRT.
I know that of course everyone is different and that there are exceptions to every rule; also, I am certain that if this is happening to me it has certainly happened to others. But I am still stumped. Has this happened to anyone out here?
I also noticed a significant hardening of the tissue in the centre, close to the areola; is that to be expected?
So yeah, I am obsessing with my boobs (boobsessing?) right now. I am sitting in bed topless, and every 30 seconds or so I look down to admire them. I am in awe. As if I needed another reason to be blissful.
EDIT: Just to add that next week I will have been 3 months on HRT (15/2).
