California and Colorado legislated that Linux distributions, being free and open-source, are exempt from the age verification in operating systems, unless they are proprietary like SteamOS (and Windows).
Too bad the systemd developers already complied with fascism in advance before the bills were even finalized.
Will Lennart Poettering and his followers now please remove the birthDate field from systemd?

Having tasted the mighty #ZFS on #FreeBSD , I have always been wondering how it would work with #Linux , so I fired up #Alpine Linux with the #ZFSBootMenu on my #ThinkPad T470s. Not bad! And #systemd free experience is still nostalgic and enjoyable!

The Linux kernel 7.1 added support for setting extended attributes on socket inodes: both for AF_UNIX entrypoint socket inodes in the file system hierarchy, and for listener/connected sockets in the "sockfs" pseudo file system.
This is truly useful, because it allows attaching descriptive metadata on sockets that can be very cheaply read without connecting to them.
