Star Trek TNG: Redemption (E04S26)
> While Lursa and B'Etor were comically evil, mustache-twirling, obvious villains for the time... their treachery and despotic self-interest is all-too-recognizable in the context of the modern day.
I found #StarTrek Discovery fun to watch, but it didn't really blow me away. So I had the same mid-level expectations for Starfleet Academy, that I'd be happy to watch it, but it would be particularly memorable.
But now that we're halfway through the first season, I'm ready to say that I was wrong. I love it. Like, really, really love it.
And I'm not just saying that because the most recent episode was basically written for fans of my generation. So far the whole thing has actually been really great.

I know these #StarTrek seasons are impractically short, so everything needs to happen super quickly, but pushing La'an into the rebound role feels forced.
I think whenever anyone wants to talk AI with me, I'm going to suggest they watch TNG's "The Game."
I am not doing good at time management or indeed any approximation of knowing what day it is, but today was the last day to drop off art for the Somerville Open Studios and I managed to get this done just in time. Despite 1) running out of black thread (howwwww) and 2) goofing up the insignia the first time. Still. She looks good.
I probably did not need to agonize as much as I did over whether it’s the right shade of teal/blue but who am I even if I can’t overthink things.
I want to give #Mastodon a proper go this time, but it's hard to connect with people when no-one follows you, and hashtags only get you so far. 😞

Now that I know that I'm autistic as well as ADHD, and I'm starting to understand how overwhelm, shutdown and burnout work, I can see why identified so strongly with the character of Odo in Deep Space 9. I too need to spent part of my day (week, month) as a puddle of goo in the back of my office ; )
