A little "Lunatics!" 2026 status update:

This has been a long, hard road -- over a decade, in fact, with many bumps, side excursions, and detail that will require several chapters in a book I plan to write to actually explain, but...

ANIMATION ON EPISODE ONE IS FINISHED!

I AM NOW TRANSFORMED INTO A "SOUND GUY".

At least for awhile.

Three tracks open in Audacity sound editor. The top one is named "COUNTDOWN" and has only the sharp peaks from the countdown timer in Kdenlive. The other two are labeled "FOLEY A" and "FOLEY B", with complex envelopes for the recorded sound.

A collection of microphones on various stands. In the back, is the permanently set-up AT2020 I use as a "studio mic" for voiceover/voice-acting, on the left is the Canon Vixia video camera I've been using for videologs. At bottom is the new shotgun mic I was using for outdoor recording, and at upper left is the Zoom H5 mic/recorder that I use for field recordings. I also set up my Samsung Galaxy phone for this, but of course, I used it to take this picture.
