Looking left from the trail I spot an obvious side quest portal over a small creek. A triangle is created from three trees: a log lays over the creek and two trees from opposite banks lean over, indicating it might be an entry point to the Illuminati. I will wait until the creek and marsh freeze over later this year before entering. Snow covers everything in this picture I took last week.

A cozy A-frame cabin snuggles into the falling snow at the end of a soft winter's day in Central #Pennsylvania. Behind the #cabin and camouflaged by the muted grays and whites of the season the land slopes down and that's where the fun really happens. Skiers and snow boarders can be heard whooping and laughing fro morning well into night when the snow pack is good and the white stuff has been flying. Built in 1967 the little cabin sits square in a place of memories and happy times for many over the years ... that's the #LaurelHighland's #BlueKnobMountain.

I hand painted this image digitally in #CorelPainter 2023 using one of my own images (not from stock or public domain) as a starting point ... having fun with a great variety of brushes and techniques. It was not created using any Ai (artificial intelligence) software programs.

Today's small moment - I grew up in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, so driving on snow-covered roads like this is very familiar to me. Here in Virginia, winter driving is a completely different experience. The Blue Ridge Parkway is typically closed during winter weather due to snow, ice, and cold temperatures.

But in early 2022, one of the gates was opened, and that stretch of the Parkway had been plowed and salted. With my all-wheel drive, I carefully made my way up using county roads that hadn’t been plowed yet.

It was exhilarating and instantly brought me back to winters in Michigan — the quiet beauty of fresh snow and the anticipation of reaching those scenic views.

I have added snow to my instance during the winter holidays. It's a tiny JS canvas and fades out on scroll down. The snow is also respecting the system accessibility settings, it won't be there if you prefer reduced motion.
