A wide-angle photo of a few magnificent windows taken in a wing at Doe Library on the UC Berkeley campus. We are looking at a huge circular dome window in the center top, below that is a rectangular window above a glass door. Everything is centered and very geometrically aligned with gorgeous lush warm luminous colors in the walls and moulding around the blue windows looking out at other regal campus buildings. Personally, it’s giving me big Bespin Cloud City from Star Wars vibes. I can almost picture Lando Calrissian standing just off-camera, along with Chewbacca wearing C3-PO on his back.

Photo is looking into an 8 foot high, approximately 100 foot long metal culvert that was built under a road to accommodate brook water rushing through it. On the top of the culvert are trees, leaves, roots and other growth. The inside of the culvert is very dark but at its far end opens up to show upstream brook water and parts of a forest on either side.

A photo of stepping stones leading across a river. The view is taken from a low angle close to the water’s edge, between two upright rough stone pillars that mark the line of the path. The stepping stones themselves are fairly higgledy-piggledy, the tops of some at quite an angle, and one is out of alignment. You’d have to have good balance to attempt to cross, especially with the river flowing fast or in spate.
On this occasion the river is running quite fast, swelled by recent rains, the peaty brown water eddying around the stones, but they are still high and dry.
On the far bank beside a tumbledown wall covered in ivy on the left, several steps lead up to a terraced green. A couple of trees grow up from the bank, one from the wall.
Beyond the green is a stone cottage - a Devon longhouse - with white painted walls under a slate roof (likely thatch once upon a time). Another cottage can be glimpsed through the trees to the left.

Our magnolia tree out back is starting to bloom. When we first moved here, we thought it was the non-blooming type. After a few years we took down a couple hackberry trees (they're known to hollow out in the middle), which gave the magnolia a lot more sun. A year or so later it started to bloom! #BloomScrolling #SilentSunday

Blue Dasher #dragonfly on a Red Yucca flower spike in our front #garden yesterday evening. Last year dragonfly sightings/photo ops at the house were very few and far between so I’m hoping this is a sign of better luck this year.
