Photograph taken out the window at the San Francisco International Airport through a large circular amber lens art piece which distorts the center of our view and colors it a gorgeous yellowy orange. Outside the window and through the lens we see normal goings-on for an airport tarmac: planes loading people at gates, miscellaneous vehicles driving around with baggage and supplies for other flights, and lots of open space painted with white directional lines. The art is framed in sturdy geometric metal and glass materials, inside the tall steel frames of the huge terminal bay windows, which adds to the geometry of the square photo—everything is framed perfectly to be contained within the shapes except for a single rogue white tarmac line, which extends outside the frame in the lower right. This was a fun image to happen upon, and looking at it brings me peace and calmness.

Our magnolia tree out back is starting to bloom. When we first moved here, we thought it was the non-blooming type. After a few years we took down a couple hackberry trees (they're known to hollow out in the middle), which gave the magnolia a lot more sun. A year or so later it started to bloom! #BloomScrolling #SilentSunday

A handrail made of cut white birch twists alongside a few stairs going down to a small beaver pond. The rail consists of 2 pieces - a crooked 8 foot piece interlocked with a standing 3 foot post. Reflections from conifers and budding deciduous trees are seen atop the water.

We look down on a sunny jumble of light purple flowers (phlox) in full bloom. Each flower is a tiny trumpet with a bell that flares out into a wide flat star made of five pear-shaped petals. The narrow opening of the trumpet is a dark five-pointed-star-shaped void in the center. The petals have a silky texture with delicate ripples and beautiful subtle gradations of color. Sunlight lies lightly on them. They are speckled with barely visible white dots of pollen.
