Sadly the world has lost a woman who never gave into fear, Shahrnush Parsipur was a blunt and outspoken voice for women in Iran and beyond. Imprisoned by both the shah's regime and the Islamic Republic, she immigrated to California in 1994. In her life and writing she kept asking what might happen if women stopped seeking permission to be free.
