happy holidays from the garden birds.
The anti-Elon Musk protest outside the Tesla dealership in San Francisco today and every Saturday. Slow the video down to read the signs.
Had a bunch of fun creating foiled drawings of some of iconic landmarks! This is Coit Tower in San Francisco!
Local credit union (SF Fire CU) took out an ad on the bus that said, ‘we use AI (Actual Individuals)’

Last Saturday, I went to the mall for some udon. It was so good that I've been telling everyone about it all week, and now I'm telling you.
The best damn udon in San Francisco
My udon quest led me to the surprisingly good Stonestown mall

#Trump said on Sunday that he was directing the Federal Bureau of Prisons to rebuild & reopen the infamous #Alcatraz prison in the #SanFrancisco Bay to "house America’s most ruthless & violent Offenders."
"REBUILD, AND OPEN ALCATRAZ!" he posted on his Truth Social platform. "When we were a more serious Nation, in times past, we did not hesitate to lock up the most dangerous criminals, and keep them far away from anyone they could harm."

Golden Gate and The City
I captured this image of San Francisco and the Golden Gate bridge on a cool winter day with a small storm clearing and blowing past the city.
This was captured from a location known as Hawk Hill in the Marin Headlands. Hawk Hill allows one of the highest vantage points of the bridge and the city.

Golden Gate in the Fog II
On this day I took a walk down at the east end of Christy Fields. As we made our way towards the Golden Gate Bridge fog started creeping in, at times, completely hiding the bridge. Depending on the wind we could see it or not for a few minutes here and there. The sun lit the bridge up wonderfully above the fog.

one of those nice half-foggy sunrises today. I think I might end up missing those two cranes out at UCSF when they’re done, they’re like mini @SutroTower. #SanFrancisco
The Bridge
The Golden Gate Bridge is the most photographed bridge in the world. It's easy to understand why. The bridge itself is a beautiful piece of architectural art work and the setting is incredible.
The span reaches across the white capped waves of the San Francisco Bay below over to Marin County.
On this day the sky is blue but it's deceptively cold for San Francisco.

Activists installed guerrilla benches at bus stops in #SanFrancisco. Will the city keep them or tear them out? https://docpop.org/2025/06/public-benches-installed-by-activists/
Between 1966 and 1970, a San Francisco-area photographer captured thousands of images documenting civil rights demonstrations, protests against the Vietnam War, Grateful Dead concerts in Golden Gate Park, and so much more.
The problem, though, is that no one knows who the photographer is.

Some days I think about how I recently saw a guy in crisis, tweaking out in the bus. He was screaming really loudly. Most people avoided him. A big dude told him to shut TF up. The guy started crying. The big dude asked, do you need a hug? And gave him some money and told him where to go get food.
Buses connect people. Sometimes the inconvenience and grit looks like a lot, but as a forever rider of buses everywhere (I like them more than trains), I have no shortage of amazing human stories I’ve witnessed in buses the world over.
"When the author of a book states that all sales of those books will contribute to an anti-trans fund, the only way we can choose not to participate is by not selling the books any longer. "

achieved the requisite pride sunburn on a long run this morning so now I don’t even need to go downtown! #SanFrancisco #sfpride
The Pyramid
The Transamerica Pyramid has been an iconic building ever sine I was a young boy. I recall seeing it on television during a golf tournament sponsored by I believe the Trans America co.
At the time of completion this building was the fifth tallest in the world and the tallest west of the Mississippi River.
The building is 850 feet and 48
Construction began in 1969 and it was finished in 1972.

I dropped off copies of our anti-ICE zines at a few local shops (like Mission Comics) in S.F. These were created by the Cartoonist Conspiracy of #SanFrancisco.
If you can’t pick up a copy in person, you can print your own here https://docpop.org/2025/06/anti-ice-zines-by-the-cartoonist-conspiracy-of-san-francisco/
