I have just finished setting up pre-orders for my October debut: a Gothic fairytale about a mad scientist vampire obsessed with an Arab violinist on a planet without a sun as a god of nightmares laughs on.
It also includes classical music references and medieval Arabic poetry translations done by me. If you're interested and want to support a #SWANA author I'd really appreciate it:

Another magnificent essay by genre romance author Suleikha Snyder, on writing sex scenes, and why that matters (tl;dr: it's character work, even when it's 'gratuitous')

I am the worst Romance hero ever.
So, a bit of backstory for the new followers. For months now, I've been communicating with a neighbor via letters typed out in text files—in his case Word document—and yes it is a wonderful plot out of a soon to be released Romance book. We started doing this because our emails were over saturated. We deliver the flash drive to each other in a bag after typing out our letters. We put the flash drive in a bag.
We sometimes leave goodies in the bag with the flash drive, like cookies, toothpaste, just extra goodies like cookies and such.
Today, he popped the question.
Do you want to come over for dinner sometime? I’d love to cook for the man I've come to know so well via text.
This is why I am no Romance hero.
Blushing redder than a fire engine, I giggled, nearly tripped on the air, nearly choked, collected myself, then I said,
That sounds great—I love to eat… I eat… uh, food!
His baritone giggle had me swooning as he said, “great. I’d love to make some… hmm, FOOD. For you.”

"The joy was the point...the point was the happy ending. When (genre romance) is done well...it does a thing to your brain. I did not know I needed this." --Jacob Tierney
(it includes discussion specific to "Heated Rivalry", but it's more about queerness in media and society)

Can we go back to the early 2000s but keep all of the social progresses we made today? Actually, if anybody has a time travel romance like that, I would love to read it! #Romance #RomanceLandia #Bookstodon
Finally starting this! Book 3 that is. Book 2 had a cliffhanger, and book 2 has a joke that slightly crosses over to slight homophobia but the ending of number 2 made me keep reading. even though I am three books in, I still don’t really understand why the airs have such an issue with the twins taking over their throne, but I love the romantic tension in this. The Graphic Audio version has me hooked! https://share.libbyapp.com/title/11240544 #Bookstodon #Books #Romance #RomanceLandia
