It just occurred to me that learning z80 assembly from traditional sources may not be the best idea. After all, the target is an #rc2014, which may be able to take advantage of more modern development methods -- unless if you want to make the little rig do all the compiling and linking itself...

After having taken a quick look at the CH357 USB Storage Module for the RC2014, I don't think it's all that difficult to build in support to CP/M to use USB storage. The CH357 provides the whole mass storage USB protocol implementation, providing the application programmer with a high level read/write sector function.
The biggest question is at what level I'd like to build in support. A command line tool to copy files to/from USB? Proper support in the BIOS? Exclusively or side-by-side with the CF card support?

Spencer, Spencer, Spencer ... What were you thinking when you designed the address decoding logic of the pageable ROM? Littering the address space with shadow copies of port 48 and 56. Tsk, tsk. Now I had to go in and add some bodges to clean up the mess.
