Report from the Amsterdam protest: there are a few hundred people here and two uniformed Dutch cops at a respectful distance very casually chatting with each other while they wait for nothing to hurry up and happen.
A lot of people are tourists (American or otherwise) who happened to see the protest because the US consulate is between several museums. They’re all like “hell yeah I’m stopping for this.” Passing bikes ring their bells (some of them might even be in support and not because Americans are standing on the bike path). I don’t know where someone in Amsterdam found an enormous California bear flag on such short notice
And yes, everyone loves Odin, who randomly decided to put his paws up on my shoulders when we were very visible to the crowd

Some of you protesting are far too into publicly posting identifiable pics and videos of folks in protest crowds without good reason.
If you brought a camera to the protest point it at the authorities, not your compatriots. Document and publicize incidents of abuse, but don't facilitate your fellow protestors being identified and punished for showing up. Assume every face you post will be recognized and catalogued. They're not there to be your photo op.

The #Texas Capitol in #Austin was evacuated Sat afternoon after authorities identified “a credible threat toward state lawmakers planning to attend a #protest” at the #Capitol complex, TX Dept of Public Safety said.
Around 1PM CT, the Capitol & its grounds were evacuated & remain temporarily closed. The investigation is ongoing.

Around 5 million people participated in last week's "No Kings" protests, according to the organizers. Next month, they're going to do it all again. The Transformative Justice Coalition has announced that the next protests will happen on July 17 in honor of the fifth anniversary of John Lewis's death. Spokesperson Barbara Arnwine said that they will focus on racial justice, voting rights, and "our continued and united fight for a just, inclusive and strong democracy that is our goal, that is our obligation in these times."
