She knows what she’s doing. This is how she lets my husband know he needs to feed her. She knows we alternate feeding her and alternates who gets obstructed. #picaTheCat
I have been looking forward to this day for weeks. today is the day that my husband and I could harvest the carrot
not a typo. There is just the one
the others fell victim to the raccoon and to other .. perils ( #Picathecat )
I had such high hopes for this carrot! I knew that we’d need to cut it in half and share it so each of us could get a little bit of the nourishment, but it had grown quite thick … but now having lifted the carrot? I wonder will we survive?

#picathecat loves #tweed she is a very urban kitty.
To be fair if I had two live-in full time servants I'd be a little annoyed if my dinner was late too.
"Dinner is at 7 ... *not* 7:15."
My husband posted a photo of #PicaTheCat on his work discord and now everyone at his job is on her side, says we should do what she says, give her anything she wants, and "can Pica come to work one day so we can pet her?"
She is too powerful.
The boss is pleased with the new morning (pill free! this has nothing to do with pills) treat.
Jeff Bezos in a recent interview opined over how terrible he thought it was that a "nurse making $75,000 from Queens" pays $12,000 a year in taxes.
He mused about how this nurse from Queens might better use that money.
And if you think a nurse from Queens is what he was really talking about may I interest you in some of #PicaTheCat 's exciting crypto currency investment opportunities.
Mr. Bezos we don't think you, yes you personally are paying your fare share of taxes. That's the issue bub.
#picathecat understands that her staff is not very bright so she helpfully points out the door knob that we should turn to open the door and let her outside. This is what prescient management and business acumen is all about.

"You'll never know if the hand that feeds you is the most delicious thing in the world or not if you *don't* give it a little nibble every now and then."
From: The Wisdom of Pica: A Rebuke to the Haters Vol. IV
I wake up to #PicaTheCat hissing and spitting at the door to our porch. We are 8 floors up and there is a raccoon looking in at Pica and she's MAD.
The raccoon didn't see me on the couch. But it wasn't that scared of Pica through the glass. It seemed curious about what might be in the apartment.
I stood up, and the raccoon ran, Pica was delighted and is still strutting around.
She's a good guard cat.
#picaTheCat seeing the raccoon is like when the Americans found out about sputnik
The raccoon has returned. #picaTheCat was displeased. I'd been putting off putting a motion sensing light in the roof garden, but I'm not putting it off anymore.
I live seven floors up in NYC this is not what I'd expect. But, they can climb from a tree to the fire escape.
I do not trust this raccoon any more than Pica does.
Those of you who live in a suburb and have a cat who goes out might wonder what your cat does. I know exactly what #picaTheCat does since I watch her the whole time (she is a city cat) she just ... sits in the drugs bush.
She faces different directions. Hits the nip a few times... looks at the birds. For two hours.
This isn't remarkable but if you knew how emphatically she BEGS to go out... you'd wonder "is it really that great?"
I guess it must be.
