A trip to Colonial Williamsburg is a dream come true for those of us who enjoy history and also value visual beauty. From architectural favorites like government houses, palaces and simple frame or brick residences, each with their own history and story .... to the most everyday of scenes, a garden filled with flowers or a shop window filled with 18th century style shoes, Colonial Williamsburg is a feast for the eye and for the heart.

I took this photo on a trip there in 2017 with the Nikon D7000 camera and my imagination both going at top speed!

A quaint little shack sits alone and forlorn on top of Blue Knob Mountain, All Season's Resort, in Claysburg, PA.

Seen on a quiet spring day, you would think the true view here at the top of Blue Knob Mountain in Claysburg, Pennsylvania, would be just at the rim of the hill the shack is perched upon. And that is the view we normally can't wait to visit. It's breathtaking ... the rolling hills of the Laurel Highlands ripple out in front of us like waves upon the sea. But on this day .. the quiet light, the trees just beginning to leaf out, the clouds ... and most fun, the golden dandelions at our feet, beg us to take a extra moment or two to enjoy the simplicity of the wooden ski-shack itself.

It'll take a couple of seasons, but soon it will no longer be forlorn. As soon as snow flies, the skiers will return ... and it will see its share of fun again.
