The thing about the Autistic outsized ‘sense of justice,’ well there’s a few things, it’s not some
fuzzy abstraction, it’s something real, but the point is that I see exactly where the majority sort’s sense of justice went!
.
They’re trying to find where our sense for this came from: they punish it out of everyone from the day they can walk enough to get into trouble by touching things or needing something. You lose your sense of justice when you are assaulted by your parents and told THAT is something like justice.
.
If you can’t see this simplest of psychological causality, I’m sorry, it may be too late for you, perhaps many, many generations too late. It took its toll, ran part of its course in your parents and your grandparents.
.
If you can’t even postulate it, if you can’t imagine that this experience of being spanked might produce that effect in maybe some circumstances, if someone like me is trying to tell you that when you let go of the apple it will fall towards the Earth and we’ve lost you already, for you the apple simply disappears and reappears on the ground or something (that analogy is better than I expected), then that is something long term thing, evolution has somehow allowed this sense to atrophy. It’s a neurotype matter, but not an Autistic matter.

This is my treatise on metaphysics. It uses The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, the Beatles, and various philosophical texts as a framework to examine questions like, "What is the nature of reality? Are we living in a dream/simulation? Do we even exist?" and so on.
So let me take you down, cause we're going to Koholint Island, where nothing is real and there's nothing to get hung about. And then, let us awaken, together.
This is the kind if vandalism we like around here... 😁

Is self-regulated free market forces not a contradiction in terms? 🤔
The free part implies that it is by definition not regulated...

Hey everyone, hope the weather's as nice wherever you are as it is in NYC. I'm writing this post to pin it- just want to say that I somtimes use Masto to promote events & content. Mostly public philosophy, almost always free stuff. I'm fully independent & financially precarious- this is part of a necessary work hustle for me. I'm also very left-leaning: I don't like using Big Tech platforms, but if I didn't, I wouldn't be able to work at all. Thanks for understanding

Global institutions are caught in a delusion, begging Silicon Valley to "do the right thing."
They fail to grasp the ironclad law of fiduciary duty. You cannot shame a corporate machine engineered strictly for capital efficiency. It’s a category error. If a system cannot feel empathy, stop trying to teach it how. Logic must fight logic.

This is a fascinating study arguing that mental concepts in brains are not translated from some supposed inner syntax.
Rather, they seem to be based on multiply realizable relationalities inside the brain.
There is no "language of thought" as posited by Jerry Fodor. We don't think in words, we think in non-linguistic concepts that are sometimes converted to words.

Creativity is dead! Creativity never existed in the first place because it’s a concept we invented recently! This post has a video based on a seminar I gave last year, along with a comprehensive summary, downloadable audio, & transcript. Tons of production went into this, especially with the caption syncing (& practicing my podcast voice 😎 )

Poets are Liars
“if poetry genuinely is a truth-telling and poets truth-tellers, it seems important to demonstrate that what we do is falsifiable. What on earth would it mean to ‘lie’ in a poem?”
