<p><a href="/tags/duterte/" rel="tag">#Duterte</a> rode to power in the <a href="/tags/philippines/" rel="tag">#Philippines</a> with a "get tough" attitude on <a href="/tags/drugs/" rel="tag">#drugs</a></p><p>What followed was degradation of <a href="/tags/humanrights/" rel="tag">#humanRights</a>, institutional norms, and rule of law. Mass killings of "drug users" (read: anyone poor a cop could shoot on sketchy happenstance "evidence" to look like they were doing something)</p><p>Beyond my joy for <a href="/tags/filipinos/" rel="tag">#Filipinos</a> with his arrest, I hope it's a harbinger for <a href="/tags/trump/" rel="tag">#Trump</a>.
