https://ratepayer.vote/ - Taxpayers Union candidate endorsement (kiss of death, from my point of view).. a check here is a bad candidate in my book.

CANTERBURY - Vote for clean drinking water

These are just the ones I used to inform my vote (thanks again @Kay ) but remember to check for any groups advocating for the things you care about in your community and use them to guide you.
Lastly, if you still cant decide who to vote for, go for whoever is more likely to defeat the worst candidates you'd like to vote against.
Do Participate if you can!
Voting alone is not going to solve this but we definitely need to use any tools at our disposal and not participating can and will make things worse.
Please comment with any other resources you've found or your approach to choosing the least worst when there is no best.
#democracy or what's left of it.
The Government and Australian coal mining company Bathurst Resources want to rip apart the beautiful Denniston Plateau on the West Coast to mine coal and make our climate even more deadly.
This video shows why that's a terrible idea: https://youtu.be/g1FJFdlNj_k?si=DHE3kUEolKolVieu
Here we go again, e hoa mā!
Get your submissions in against the government's push to make the Fast Track pathway even worse than it already is!
As per usual time is limited, we only have until Nov 17.
Here is our full submission guide:

Also, Greenpeace has put together a handy tool to make it easy for you to make a submission.

We made them change course last time. We can do it again!
Toitū te Tiriti, toitū te taiao!
Just because the NZ Prime Minister was too chickenshit to put retaliatory tariff's on the USA, it doesn't mean that the NZ people can't do what the Canadian's have done and stop buying stuff from USA companies, and also support local companies at the same time.
The Buy Canadian sub-Reddit is a great source on how to do it:
https://www.reddit.com/r/BuyCanadian/
This is a pretty cool submission tool.
Have a go!
UPDATE: It is nine bills now. (including the yucky NZF transphobia bill)

I went to a #repairCafe today and got my ebike charger fixed for at least another 4 years of daily usage (I hope). 🚲 ⚡
Repairing things is good for the earth, for our pockets and for society in general.
The NZ Parliament is looking at a bill about this. 🔧
Please make a submission so repairing becomes the standard and we keep things out of the landfill for as long as possible.
Deadline is April 3rd.

The awesomely named "Review of sustainability measures for orange roughy (ORH 3B)" is emblematic of putting profits over ocean health. 🌊
You can tell the government to ban bottom trawling now.
Just send them an email.
(Example text in reply toot)
This is a NZ Orange roughy fishery that is in freefall. MPI is consulting what to do about it. They need to prioritise sustainability over profits. The ESCR ORH3B must be closed immediately. Even the most conservative option may fall short.

Hi Mastodon, please sign my petition to the #NewZealand government to show that we the public will hold them accountable to uphold our part of the Paris #climate agreement.

According to change.org, petitions that gain at least 10 signatures in the first day are more likely to succeed. Also their website starts pushing it out to people once it has five signatures. Yours could be one.
