Book of Earth: A Guide to Ochre, Pigment, and Raw Color by Heidi Gustafson (2023) is a very personal meditation on earth based pigments. It is an introduction and survey of the raw ingredients behind certain colors while being a treatise on grief that strikes a similar tone to Grief Is for People by Sloane Crosley (2024).
