I rode Waymo the first time from the convention today. It was really cool, it felt just like a normal drive but it felt so cool no one was driving it, and the car spoke what it was doing like the streets it was turning on and when it had to stop to wait for an intersection to clear. The pickup was annoying though because it parked across the street, but at least the car played a sound to tell me where it was. #NFB26

That Waymo ride, my first, was one of the coolest experiences of my life. I have dreamed of being able to do that. #nfb26

One wonderful thing about being on team NFB is the way everyone pitches in to help the convention run smoothly. I spent four hours at registration this morning, and thoroughly enjoyed saying hi to so many people. It was special to see the undeniable excitement of people who are here for the first time.
Then a busy afternoon at resolutions. I am now going to see if I can grab a Waymo. Thanks to those who take the time to post about sessions they are attending. No one can possibly do all the things they would like to. #NFB26

JAWS is getting agentic AI soon. From the demos it was able to take a Word document out of protected mode and pick a date in an inaccessible date picker. It can do multi-step actions too and speaks each step as it does it. If it fails or only partially completes, it speaks a message explaining why. It works both on and off the web. #NFB26

During the Be My Eyes session, they announced that the Be My Eyes desktop app is coming to MacOS. There are keyboard shortcuts for all the functions (screenshot, image, etc) just like on Windows, and these shortcuts can be triggered from any application. #NFB26

NLS announced that sometime in the future they will add synced reading positions to BARD Mobile and the DA2 and other BARD platforms, so that you can stop a book on one and start it again on another from where you left off. #NFB26
