Sunday started around 8am after a reasonable nights sleep!

Its been a foggy & wet winters day & in classic English winter style it’s basically gonna rain for the rest of the week!

We went foraging to Costco™, it was stupidly busy but we made it thru!

A nice relaxing rest of the day, catching up on Mrs S’s shows.

Aside from fighting off the screaming hordes in Costco™ its not been a bad day all told.

Woke around 8am after a rough night due to a dicky digestive system!

Really wasn’t feeling the full monty today & spent most of it searching for a suit of armour in KCD2.

Was back on semi normal food by teatime which was a relief!

Tuesday started around 07:30, it would have been later but I forgot to put y earplugs in so the pre-dawn chorus of next door kids woke me up.

A quiet day of chores & KCD2 - Mrs S was out in the office so I had the house mostly to myself.

Final Thoughts.

I need to go get a blood test on Thursday - I’ll have to see if I can persuade Mrs S to drop me off at the hospital because the GPs are claiming that they are snowed under. I have no doubt that I will wait several hours for the dubious benefit of some one taking 5 minutes to stab me in the arm!

So going forward I am just going to write this diary when something has actually happened in my day, there seems little point in writing about days when it just the usual humdrum of existence.

08:11 Oh Nuggan’s holey nuts! I just rang our GP surgery & was first in the queue!!!
This never happens! One has to ring on the dot of 8am to book an appointment & even ringing to the second I have never been first in 10 years since they 1st brought this system in!
Admittedly the appointment isn’t until Monday but still!
Also proud that I fought the phone demons & made the call - hate instigating none written comms!

So after this morning’s excitement I spent the rest of the day in medieval Bohemia painting a bull & sorting out a land rights issue!

Friday has been another quiet day, the weather has continued to be absolutely ‘orrible. Wet, dark n cold!

The high point of the day was pizza for tea - specifically a meat feats pizza, which was as naughty as it was nice!

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 938 , Saturday 23/05/2026

Hah defeated to noise bots next door by the use of ear plugs … even so I was still up before 07:20 today!

Did my chores then spent a n hour or so on Elite Dangerous.

Mrs S decided that we were going carpet hunting after lunch, just to the local shop where we met the proprietor, Patrick, a very helpful man though he did have a thing for castors on office chairs!

Carpet picked & Patrick is coming out Tuesday to measure up.

Settled down to catch up on a couple of Mrs S’s cop shows when we got back which were accompanied by our now regular ‘Cona’ coffee.

16:00 So since starting to play Elite Dangerous again I have really felt the difference between the legacy version that runs on the PS5 & the things that one can do on the current version that only runs on the PC.
So I’ve been thinking about a gaming PC, but cannot currently afford a decent one.
However I do have a 2019 intel MacBook Pro which will run windows & therefore windows games … yes the one that I installed Kubuntu on, but needs must etc.

So starting to convert the MBP to windoze, just a gaming machine I have no intention of using it for anything else, we have an old laptop that I can put linux on.

Step one, reinstall OSX!

22:10 Well it seems that OSX is reluctant to return to my MBP, recovery mode failed so now having to try other methods.

Why couldn’t I have chosen an easier hobby, brain surgery, designing portable nuclear fusion devices you know something easy!

Sunday started at about 05:30 / 6am because next door was making a racket again - they are really annoying sometimes!
I tossed & turned for another hour or so, finally getting up at around 7:30.

Sunday has been a quiet day, but I did finish sorting out the books in my room so I can now see my desk!

Not really done much else today, it’s been grey & grisly here in deepest, darkest Yorkshire so energy & motivation levels have not been high.

Did us a slightly weird mix of meat balls in tomato sauce with peas, carrots & potatoes because we didn’t have any pasta in. It wasn’t bad.

Had vanilla ice cream with some raspberry sauce I got for Christmas but never used for dessert, rather a nice treat!

Not a bad Sunday as Sundays go!

Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse was beaten up & then shot by ICE in Minneapolis.
I can only express my deepest condolences to his family & friends.

Saturday was just like any other Saturday until Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse was beaten up & then shot by ICE in Minneapolis.

I feel incredibly sad that this man, who’s only crime seems to have been witnessing ICE activities & possibly to give them a piece of his mind - which most of the people I know would do as a matter of course, has lost his life.

I can only express my deepest condolences to his family & friends.

I cannot help but wonder if I will wake up to a new reality in the USA in the morning.

Sunday started around 8am after a nice lie in.

I’d like to say it’s been a relaxing day & that I’ve managed to avoid doom scrolling but that would be a fib.

Still I’ve managed to get thru the day without spontaneously exploding or ‘Happening’ to anyone so we’ll call it a no score draw hey.

For lunch I grated the last of the speciality cheese from christmas (cheshire with cranberries ) on top of a couple of halved bread cakes & bunged them in the airfryer for 4 minutes then added some sliced pickled onions to make a couple of impromptu cheese n onion sarnies - surprisingly tasty!

We caught up on a couple of Mrs S’s shows this afternoon then watched the last 2 eps of ‘Down Cemetery Rd’ with some nuked lamb hotpot.

Final Thoughts.

The actions of the 4th reich yesterday reverberate around the world &, as the orange oaf threatens the 2nd amendment, the press suddenly become ‘aware’ of what is going on.
Or am I being cynical?

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 821 , Monday 26/01/2026

Monday started earlier than normal at around 7am.

Had to go for a blood test at just after 8am, the cold & my naturally shy veins resulted in the phlebotomist having to make 3 attempts to squeeze a measly couple of mm of the old claret from this stone!

Then after a restorative cuppa & doing a couple of chores I had to cross the wild wastes of Yorkshire to play babysitter to the chap doing the valuation of the contents of my MiLs house.

He was due at 12 but was about 30 minutes late - which gave me a little longer to sort things out.

Was back home for a latish lunch & then lost myself in medieval Bohemia for a few hours!

I was treated to a Fried chicken takeaway for my tea by way of reward for my efforts today.

Final Thoughts.

I was very anxious having to meet a new person on my own, but my masks held & it all went well in the end.

Thursday started early at around 06:45 to give myself plenty of time to get ready to go for a scheduled blood test.

Obviously all the chores still to do, Mrs S feels that work days exempt her from all other tasks. How very 1970’s of her.

Made it to the GPs on time & blood test done on first attempt which was appreciated!

09:26 Oh the grey is dragging me down again, seriously struggling to people & even gaming is just something to do today.

One thing that is lifting my sprits is listening to Sophie snoring away on the back of the couch! She can be exceedingly cute at times!

Totally failed to get my ass into gear today, I hate it when I’m like this.

Saturday started at around 07:30.

It’s been another quiet day, the weather improved as the day wore on & the sun came out this afternoon!

We started watching ‘The Diplomat’ this afternoon, it has potential it must be said.

Watched George Clooney in ‘The Midnight Sky’ while we enjoyed a Chinese takeaway.

Final Thoughts.

Sounds like we’re off to do some more tidying up at my late MiL’s place tomorrow.
I might take out spot carpet cleaner, it’s not really supposed to be for big cleaning jobs but there is a really nasty patch on the living room carpet that is basically a biohazzard!
Mrs S would never think to clean it so it falls to me as all such jobs do.

Tuesday started late, Mrs S went into the office so I got a nice lie in.

It’s been a monumentally wet & ‘orrible day. It has been so dark that the low light sensors on various lights in the house kicked in.

Did my cores after breakfast & then went & hid in medieval Bohemia for the rest of the day.

Days like this just suck all the energy out of me, & we’re not even out of January yet!

Sunday started around 8am after a nice lie in.

Breakfast so had & then we poddled over to my late MiL’s wen I spent the better part of 2 hours cleaning a 3ft sq stretch of the living room carpet. Suggestions to get a cleaner in, both before & after my Mother in Law passed, fell on deaf ears.

We got home around 2pm & had a garlic sausage sarnies for a late lunch!

We relaxed this afternoon with a binge session of ‘The Night Manager’ season 2!

Not a bad day, that carpet in my MiL’s place really needs a professional to have a go at it!

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 828 , Monday 02/02/2026

Monday started around 07:30.

First job was to write & post cards for my Niece & her mum who have birthdays within 2 days of each other.
Wandered down the hill to the postbox then, as our hill is moderately steep, staggered back home.

Hung out the laundry as I was passing back thru the garage.

Finally got breakfast at around 08:30.

The rest of the morning was dedicated to various chores.

Lunch was a bag of crisps, a satsuma & a glass of cherry juice (to placate Geoff the Gouty left toe).

The afternoon was dedicated to finishing off the last couple of quests & side quests in the first area of KCD2. Tonight I will be going to a wedding when I get back into the virtual world of medieval Bohemia!

Final Thoughts.

Not a bad day, my back & thighs have been complaining about me being on my hands & knees for the better part of 2 hours yesterday, but hopefully that will pass in the next couple of days.

Wednesday started around 7am.

It’s been a gloriously sunny day which has helped speed me thru the chores today.

Went wild & put the dishwasher on a cleaning cycle while we had a little extra power from the solar panels.

We had steak & kidney pie (M&S’s best) with button mushrooms & a mushroom sauce. Went wild & got Mrs S to get us some chips to go with it (thats fires to our American Peeps).

I should have gone for a walk today but the door demons are getting the better of me at the moment.

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 863 , Monday 09/03/2026

Monday started just after 7am & I was welcomed with a grey & dull morning.

Breakfast was followed by chores which I had to make sure were completed by 10:50 for a meds review by some pharmacist.
The pharmacist was running on NHS time so he actually rang at around 11:15!

The review went fine although he wasn’t happy with my somewhat sedentary lifestyle & my current diet, which is fine because neither am I!

Finished chatting with him just before midday so had a bit of an early lunch - a hotdog, but only because they need using up.

Played some KCD2for a while then decided to get some more done in the box room. Finished filling one of the bigger chunks before calling it a day.

Then for no good reason I decided another desk move was called for, this time the desk is back under the window but critically I have done something I have avoided for 20 odd years or more & flipped the desk top so it is now a right handed “L” rather than a left handed one.
This seemingly small change meant utterly dismantling the desk but it has meant that I can more easily access the window ledge & it does make the room look bigger. It also means that free access to the wardrobe has been restored & there is no longer a need to squeeze past the chair.

Due to having to stop when Mrs S got home I still have to put all the electronics back together tomorrow.

Final Thoughts.

A rather more productive day than I first expected, although once I have sorted my mac out tomorrow I will need a sofa surfing day to recover, my spine is already unhappy with me!

Tuesday was one of those rare days that went almost totally according to plan!

Had a bit of a lie in - just about 10 minutes but still!

Did my chores & then settled in for a relaxing day, some time on the PS5, spinning up a couple of meals & ending the day with an episode of ‘The Diplomat’ & one of the orginal eps of ‘All Creatures Great & Small’.

A good day today - tomorrow will be a LOT busier!

Thursday started somewhat reluctantly at around 7am.
I really did not want to get out of bed this morning, but staying in bed held little appeal either.

Breakfast was partaken of & chores were done.
I’ve spent the entire day believing it was Friday! 🙄🤦‍♂️

I had to ditch most of yesterday’s progress in medieval Bohemia.
Hey ho. On a plus note this is one of the few games where I haven’t started from the beginning again as I came to grips with the game mechanics!

I’m coping with the world falling apart around my ears by hiding away in the virtual world of KCD2.

Not the best coping strategy in the world I admit, but I guess there are worse ones.

Wednesday started just after 7am.

We woke to snow & though that melted thru the day it’s not been a particularly nice day!

Breakfast was followed by the usual daily chores & then I knocked one of the bigger jobs off the list & cleaned the filters & rollers on the vacuum cleaner.

This afternoon saw me back in medieval Bohemia off to visit a fortress on a hill.

We had slow cooked beef short rib with veg & baby potatoes covered in a bourbon sweet sauce for tea, very nice!

Final Thoughts.

Not a bad day at all, glad I managed to cross one of the bigger jobs off my list.

Friday started at around 7:15 despite my most earnest efforts to sleep longer!

It’s been another cold & utterly dreary day.
After breakfast chores were committed.

I was due to go & help Mrs S with another tidying session but it seems my aid was not required.

Thus released I headed back into medieval Bohemia!

Pizza for tea tonight, it had mushroom, sweetcorn & peppers on it (as well as other more meaty toppings) so it was, to all intents & purposes, health food! 😜

Final Thoughts.

I’ve been slowly, ever so slowly, working on decorating the box room post Router move last year.
I’m doing a little bit each day in the faint hope that I might get it done by next Christmas.
I would be more enthused about doing it if I didn’t have to clear up after everyone else all the time. Hey ho.
