This is an Autumn season photo of a very mature deciduous tree alongside a hiking trail. Many leaves have already fallen to the ground and the leaves remaining on the tree are a mix of green, yellow and orange. It was taken on a fair weather day with traces of the blue sky visible through the branches. The sunshine creates an illuminating effect on the leaves in the upper branches. The tree looks somewhat majestic and strong in terms of it's presence in the forest.

We visit Colorado every year, tho mostly in the summer. We are here a bit late and there are very few chipmunks around. Where did they go?

Turns out, eastern chipmunks enter a torpor state, similar to hibernation.

I feel my own torpor coming on.
