Dear creative people of the fedi 😊🎨🎹❤️

I am thrilled to announce that my 3rd album is now not available online.

Yep, you read that right, you can't download it, you can't stream it, you can't buy it, and AI bros can't harvest it.

It is only available in exchange for something creative that you have created yourself.

More info and how it works:

Boosts are hugely appreciated. 🥰

Songs from the Last Page
25 April, Musselburgh. £18

Written & performed by composer and songwriter Gareth Williams. Each song in the collection is inspired by the final lines of iconic Scottish literature – from Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes to Ely Percy’s DUCK FEET – transforming these into new pieces of music.

More people are questioning the effect of digital tech, AI, and even streaming on culture — and some are even going back to analog!

In light of that, this week #TechWontSaveUs is replaying a great interview with Liz Pelly about music, streaming, and Spotify.

Is Qobuz worth it? I know I need to get off Spotify asap but I don't have the budget to play around with lots of alternatives. I need to just find one and stick with it.

Soon, you'll be able to buy music on the Fediverse.

Bandwagon, the music-sharing platform built on Emissary, has seen a lot of success over the past few months. The site has grown to a catalogue of over 300 different musicians, spanning a wide range of different sounds and genres. After refining search and discovery features, project lead Ben Pate has decided to focus on introducing a payment system for music sales.
