Rated Salad Days 8/10

Rated No More Heroes 5/10

Such a weird album, sounds incredible, great title track, but some of the lyrics (Bring on the Nubiles being the worst of them) are just pure Yewtree, and more than a bit grim.

Rated The Raven 4/10

Just as pervy and weird as No More Heroes, but with fewer bangers.

Rated Greatest Hits 6/10

Can't actually find the random old 80s Greatest Hits I have on here, but this is another one my wife picked up, because she loves her a bit of Bolan. I can see why, but ultimately I always want him to write more riffs and be less of a fucking hippie.

Rated The River 8/10

Imagine writing an album this good and it's not even the one you're best known for, or considered your best.

Rated The Works 6/10

As with pretty much every single Queen album, this is a mix of the sublime (It's a Hard Life, Hammer to Fall, Radio Gaga) and the ridiculous (Keep Passing the Open Windows).

Rated Rio 7/10

Growing up I always thought of this kind of thing as The Enemy, so it's been a great pleasure of later life to realise that it's properly cracking pop music. And The Chauffeur is a certified banger.

Rated Purple Rain 8/10

Banger after banger after banger, and yet more evidence that bad movies can have great soundtracks *cough Judgment Night cough*

Rated Hatful of Hollow 6/10

By Christ I hate his whining, miserable little voice, his tedious lyrics, and everything about him. But what a band he had behind him, and what immaculate melodies they wrote.

Rated Bleach 9/10

Not one of those hipsters that'll argue that Bleach is the best Nirvana album, but holy fuck does it still rip, and arguably sounds better than Nevermind to modern ears.

Rated Paul’s Boutique 9/10

An utterly joyous album, even if it is at times a bit of a meandering mess.
