<p>I'm watching a time travel / past life / alternate timeline story (I'm being fuzzy on identifying details because I don't want to spoil it for anyone), and I've finally hit the beat where the female lead explains to the male romantic lead why she knows what she knows...</p><p>...AND HE BELIEVES HER. 🔥 </p><p>This is truly one of my favourite tropes and one of the hottest scifi/fantasy + romance tropes of all time.</p><p>Is this because women and other marginalized people are so rarely believed and supported by cis men / members of dominant cultural groups? Yes, it is: we are hungry to be seen and believed.</p><p>Want to knock the socks off of marginalized people (or at least this girl)? Listen to us, believe us, and trust our authority and expertise regarding our lived experiences (vs mansplaining, gaslighting, ignoring, etc.)</p><p>This is truly top tier hotness and sexiness. 💋 </p><p>*If you want to share your recommendations for stories with these kinds of dynamics in the mentions, please put them under a CW so there are no spoilers for people who want to leave that as a surprise.
