Rated Kings of the Road 10/10
movie
Rated Prometheus 5/10
Everyone in this is too stupid and it gives us explanations that don't improve the subsequential timeline. I'm just going to pretend that this film never happened.
Rated Nobody 6/10
It's ok. This film very badly wants to be a top-tier action flick, and it goes through all the motions, but still doesn't manage to feel like the real deal. It's more like play-acting the part.
Rated Alien 9/10
One of the most magnificent sci-fi movies ever created. Beautiful and terrifying in equal measure.
Rated The Fifth Element 10/10
The Fifth Element is perfectly cast, utterly engaging and stunningly beautiful. It's only flaw is that the script is pretty shallow, but the pure entertainment value more than makes up for that.
Rated Heat 7/10
Super slick yet unwieldy cop drama. Dated style, but adrenalin filled. Well acted and directed.
Rated X-Men Origins: Wolverine 5/10
Incredibly stupid but fairly entertaining, Wolverine feels like a direct to DVD prequel. It's forgettable, but not a complete waste of time.
Rated Gladiator 10/10
The story of Maximus' fall and rise again is as gladiatorial as it’s subject. Russell Crowe’s performance is wonderful, Joaquin Phoenix makes a chilling foe, and best of all, Ridley Scott’s direction is breathtaking. Gladiator is unashamedly pompous, truly epic, and one of my favourite movies of all time.
Rated 9 5/10
Stunningly beautiful, but ultimately unsatisfying post apocalyptic, steampunk animated adventure. Let down by poor narrative.
Rated Avatar 6/10
Enjoyable Saturday night throw away despite being jack of all trades, yet master of none.
Rated The Hurt Locker 9/10
Bigelow’s direction is brilliant in this apolitical Iraq War drama. Wonderfully tense and stunningly lonely.
