Rated Gladiator 10/10
The story of Maximus' fall and rise again is as gladiatorial as it’s subject. Russell Crowe’s performance is wonderful, Joaquin Phoenix makes a chilling foe, and best of all, Ridley Scott’s direction is breathtaking. Gladiator is unashamedly pompous, truly epic, and one of my favourite movies of all time.

A corporate downsizer is forced to reevaluate his life. Up in the Air feels very old-school; classy, touching and fun. George Clooney puts in a typically great turn in the lead role, and Reitman's direction shines.

Rated 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple 9/10
It’s weird that not more people watched the Bone Temple. It’s packed full of so much warmth and heart, despite it being a straight up horror. I’ll be first in the queue if/when the final film in the trilogy is released.

Taika Waititi adds his trademark humour (and all the saturation) to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I had a blast.
