Rated RoboCop 9/10
movie
Rated Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me 8/10
"american woman" by the guess who wasn't released in any capacity until 1970, so using it in a scene set in 1969 will never not be weird to me.
Rated Evil Dead II 10/10
like i know linda is different each time because they re-cast, but i also find it hilarious on a personal level because my younger self unintentionally dated 4 different guys with variations of the same name.anyway, another evil dead, another movie to thirst over bruce campbell.
Rated Chris Claremont's X-Men 8/10
papa claremont is why i have the x-men logo on my forearm for the rest of my life.minus one star for shooter though (all my homies hate that homophobic pos)
Rated *batteries not included 10/10
as a kid i loved watching this for the robot aliens. as an adult i still love watching it for the robot aliens but it hits different for multiple reasons. i don't have a lot of memories that included both my maternal grandparents but i do remember watching this with them before i lost my grandpa in 1991. there's parts of this movie that are wholesome old people having fun, but there's heavier themes weaved throughout. gentrification, capitalism, and dementia. all three can get fucked.
Rated Dual 8/10
re-watched this after waking up too early and barely sleeping because it popped in my head. i enjoyed this a little more the second time around.elements about this are still weird and fucked up, especially the whole cloning aspect.but the more I think about it, the more I realize that are people out there already doing elements of this. people will fumble others due to various reasons (mostly letting outside factors influence their decisions instead of just making their own decisions) and then keep trying to find "replacements" for the person they fumbled in others. human beings aren't toys that can be replaced and outright using new people instead of owning up to your shit. it's a shame that folks try to normalize that behavior instead of just doing better. never mind the science fiction that amplifies it to 11 and beyond.the boyfriend and the mother in this are such pieces of shit though, as well as the clone. going behind the original's back with the clone? continuing to treat the original like shit when she shouldn't have been nice to either of them to get cloned for them in the first place. the clone got her karma in the end, or whatever that equivalent is for clones. the original deserved better though.i know grief is hard but cloning to prevent loss is not the way.
Rated Army of Darkness 10/10
respectfully what drugs were they on when they wrote this
