Rated Despicable Me 6/10
Fun for kids. Smart for adults. Wont blow you away, but will captivate. Almost Pixarish.

Rated Scott Pilgrim vs. the World 8/10
8bit comic book chic hits the big screen. Funny and entertaining throughout. Quality geek greatness.
Rated Valkyrie 6/10
Enjoyable World War II drama set in Nazi Germany. Excellent cinematography nearly makes up for a pretty lightweight script. Valkyrie is played for the mass market so you'll be suitably entertained, even if you don't remember the storyline a week later.
Rated Tron 4/10
A reliance on special effects make this a disappointing watch. Initially nostalgic, then just obsolete.
Rated Terminator Salvation 5/10
John Connor returns to fight machines. Mildly entertaining despite being cliché ridden, occasionally very stupid and Christian Bale's most wooden performance to date.
Rated Mystic River 6/10
Childhood friends meet again after murder. Well made but we’ve been here many times before.
Rated King Corn 7/10
This is a charming little documentary exploring how America’s diet is based almost entirely on corn. We discover how this came about, and it's effect on the health of the nation. While the producers definitely have a strong view about the subject, you never feel that it is being shoved down your throat. Delightfully entertaining, yet pretty shocking.
Rated Zombieland 8/10
Superbly entertaining zombie apocalypse tale. Great cast and smart script. Love, laughs, big guns and braaaiiins.
Rated (500) Days of Summer 8/10
Enjoyable quirky love story. Feels a bit like an indy flick, but it’s mainstream themes keep it well grounded. Lovely cast, lovely story. Sweet without being sickly.
Rated The Damned United 8/10
Drama about Brian Clough’s tortuous 44 days in charge of Leeds United. Well written and well acted, with some surprisingly good cinematography.
Rated Boyz n the Hood 7/10
A touching if over-sentimental examination of growing up in South Central Los Angeles. Boyz n the Hood has dated a great deal, but if you can overlook this, there is plenty entertainment to be had.
Rated Man on Wire 8/10
Beautifully photographed and engaging documentary about a man who challenged liberties to achieve something special...and quite dangerous.
Rated Heartstopper Forever 8/10
can confirm I cried, and I have witnesses to prove it
Rated Harry Brown 7/10
Pensioner Caine avenges gang intimation in this grim but outstanding thriller. Gran Torino with balls.
