the realization that the surplus of footage of streets and trains in the late 1800s is similar to the way we capture random footage on a smart phone. the only difference is that type of technology was brand new for the time and it's fascinating how much of it has survived to this day. whereas nowadays we take the technology for granted.

i never need a reason to re-watch a bogie film because he is one of my faves, but after today's tragic loss? it only seemed fitting.not to be dramatic but this movie may or may not have altered my brain chemistry as a child, and i know i annoyed the fuck out of my high school film class teacher when he made us watch it.i am still annoying about this movie.
