I don't know what it's called so I'm calling it Fake Vomit Moss.

Wizened moss woman
Once upon a time there was a wizened old woman who decided to say F this and live amongst mossy boulders and thick forest trees forever.
Only the birds sang and the trees swayed forever.
There was no outrage or random nastiness.
Soon she became covered with moss and melted into the forest. Her bones became branches and her skin lichen, seeds scattered from her and wild flowers.

A patch of moss growing on the side of a tree. The sun is behind, and the tree is dark, as well as some other trees in the background, and the moss sporophytes are brightly illuminated. They're red at the base, shifting to orange then yellow, and then there are dark pointy tips.

A picnic table covered in thick green moss on the table top and visible bench. Any exposed wood is very weathered. The ground is covered in a mixture of grass and leaf litter.

Cleaned up and moved the dormant Drosera paradoxa (sundew) into a new pot. It's in an open glass container until the ambient humidity in this room goes up. This one came out of dormancy mid going into late March last year (see link at https://layer8.space/@chillicampari/112169585969118118), but it can vary. As I am doing with a few other plants, I top dressed it with chopped fresh sphagnum moss that I keep in a jar.

Small Drosera Paradoxa in hibernation. The old traps have been trimmed off and it is in a fresh pot with a top dressing of sphagnum moss.

I was way, way offtrail and saw a large green object in the woods. At a distance I could only guess it was a car, abandoned in the middle of nowhere like you sometimes find in the New England woods.

As I got close I could tell it wasn’t a vehicle, but had no idea what possibly could be this shade of green.

Moss! Like a kid’s magic marker. I mean, just soak it in.
