The panicles of the bunnytail grass near the beach are having their reproductive moment — and they are so cuuute!

Also, sadly, belong around the Mediterranean, not here. Even sadder, they are growing where the *critically imperiled* spineflower grows, arguably displacing it for space and resources.

But they are so CUTE and fluffy like baby bunnies. *sigh*

A bunch of grass heads are beige, with some anthers extending around the fluffy-looking stuff that's sort of shaped like a bunny tail, only all around. The sunlight shows the eyelash-like filaments that extend all through the fluff.
