American physician and endocrinologist Rebecca Lee Dorsey died #OTD in 1954. She is known as the world's first female endocrinologist and the first woman physician to practice in Los Angeles.

There is a section in the book that talks about how some ancient Egyptian physicans believed that migraines were caused by wandering wombs.
The treatment: rub oil on the patient and blow incense smoke at her to encourage her womb to move back into proper position. 😂
