A hospital says a patient died… and it takes him years to correct the record; A new data tool promises to lighten workloads, but even more doctors & nurses burn out. What's going on here?
I reviewed Klaus Hoeyer's DATA PARADOXES for @hnet_reviews. It's a good book for STSers, but an even better book for anyone who's deciding whether and how to deploy data-collecting infrastructure, whether in medicine (Hoeyer's case) or any other domain

Today I've done something I've never done before and written in direct criticism of another trans writer.
Andrea Long Chu, in my opinion, is dangerously undermining the fight for access to transition in the guise of defending trans people's right to do it.

I can confidently diagnose #betterhelp as sociopaths.
Promised therapy customers privacy...then gave their mental health info to advertisers.
Victims get less than ten bucks each.
Company made billion+ in revenue last year alone.
In a just society with good privacy laws, they'd face existential civil & criminal consequences.

"Right to Repair for Your Body"
At first glance, I thought this was about fixing a broken prosthetic limb.
But far from it, this is about a campaign to make your own versions of outrageously priced life-changing medicines.
Fascinating read.
