I wish #Mastodon and #Diaspora played well together. Or at all. I know #Friendica works as a sort of bridge, but I wish there was a brid.gy for the two instead.

Which also makes me wish I was a better developer.

#FediHood should be easy to use, with a very simple interface. It fully uses #ActivityPub and is compatible with the #Mastodon API (tested with #Fedilab). It will of course bring extra endpoints related to how it works. The project reuses the combined work from #HolosSocial and #PawFed.

#snac finally sends me push notifications!

Two things you can see here... It's pretty hot! That's why I stayed home and implemented a missing feature into snac. That's what you can also see - it finally sends push notifications to devices! In this case, we can see notifications coming from #MastoBlaster App for iPhone.

What we can also see, it's still a bit faulty and not the expected content, but a first success here at least ;) I'll make some further adjustments when there's time and get in touch with @grunfink to check if we can get this upstream. Thanks to @stefano for testing with me :)

Not everyone wants to talk to the whole internet. This is something the Fediverse needs to understand if they want to get folk away from big tech or help bring folks over here to the social web.

Discourse is modern forum infrastructure that I really wish would takeoff more. I can follow communities via RSS, but I can’t post or comment without an account.

ActivityPub is great for being open and more social. Don’t forget about forums though!

This is slop, slopware, but there are no active forks of Pinafore and even though the original interface has improved greatly using keyboard navigation, I don’t think there will be anything like the clean and elegant and very accessible Pinafore I still have no clue if this maintains the accessibility of its predecessor but it appears to be an active fork of Enafore. This is going to be the hill I die on: a small number of social media followers is better than a large number of social media followers. This is especially true if your small number of followers know you or have met up with you in real life.

This has been my experience over the last few decades of my life. I feel that social media is just better if it's small-scale rather than big. When your community becomes too big, you hardly know them, and they probably don't even have much of a connection with you. How do you know a million people anyway? But it is much easier to know at least 50 people in a following of 100.

1. Blind focused Fediverse instances with similar lengthy character counts and that's well maintained, well moderated, and not shutting down soon? Also updated to the latest Mastodon version. 2. Writer and or reader focused instances that's well moderated with a lengthy character count and updated Mastodon versions?

I have a backup account on Writing Exchange, but I don't know if that instance will be around for the long hall. I was sure the Write Freely development stopped and was unsure if that extended to the Writing Exchange Instance too.
