I’m looking for a little help about dealing with the seemingly mass attack of Russian bots. What's the best way of handling this?
I report this Russian propaganda as 'Something Else' and bookmark a post, so that I can later see if the account is still running, then I block the account. I also leave the checkbox on, for the server itself to receive my report

Le Monde Diplomatique de mai 2026 a publié cet article dont l’auteur est le Secrétaire Général de JURDI et maître de conférence Benjamin Fiorini.
Sont rappelées les obligations internationales les plus impératives des Etats, en particulier de la France, de prévenir le crime de génocide quand ils ont « connaissance » de « risque sérieux » de l’existence d’actes génocidaires parfaitement documentés dans le TPO de Gaza. Il est rappelé n’a pas satisfait à cette obligation en ne mettant pas tous ses « moyens raisonnablement à disposition » pour prévenir ce crime. Elle n’a, par exemple, pas exercé les pressions ni pris les sanctions à la hauteur de ses obligations et moyens.
L’article fait état des actions de contentieux entreprises par #JURDi pour dénoncer l' »inaction complice » de la #France et des institutions européennes à cet égard.

A migração de contatos entre instâncias do Mastodon ainda não funciona direito? Eu achava que esse problema era coisa do passado. A do Pixelfed não funciona, se a do Mastodon também não funciona direito é uma das maiores promessas do Fediverso que não está sendo cumprida pelas maiores plataformas.

What's a decent character limit for Mastodon? I've currently set my server to 5000. #Mastodon
I tend to speak my mind because I'm of the opinion that the Abilene paradox should not be a lifestyle, and that's gotten me some IRL hate over the years. But given what I've experienced here and how I've seen others treated, I'd say Mastodon really is something special in this regard.

If any Mastodon admins are dealing with spam account sign-ups, it's worth noting that these accounts seem to universally use disposable email providers and burner email address. There's a GitHub repo that tracks these providers. All moderation inquiries are sent to a user's email on Mastodon, so there's no legitimate reason any Mastodon user should be using a disposable email address. As such, there's a git repository that tracks these disposable email providers. There are also bash scripts that will import the repository into tootctl for you.

Simply clone the repo and copy the bash script onto your server, then edit the script to point at your Mastodon installation and the directory you cloned the repository to, and it should handle the rest.
Side note: I checked our logs and we had a huge spike in attempted sign-ups from a bunch of different disposable email addresses this week, so I can confirm that blocking them definitely works.
