First, it looks a bit strange. HTML attributes, tags and elements wrapped in C? But it's quick! And @grunfink had a great idea of simplifying it with the helper functions to even close them again. The more I adjusted all the things in #snac / #snac2 to my personal needs, the closer I had a look to the code base after being absent to snac for almost a bit more than a year. He made a really great job!

So excited that quote posts are rolling out. It's not a 'me too' copy but a well thought out release that protects user privacy. No other platform has taken the time to be this thorough.

This is a subtle feature and hard to discuss because so many assume quoting is ONLY about dunking. It's not! We've learned by talking to community leaders that it's a powerful tool to build community.

I really love the catch-up feature on @phanpy. When I don't have time to scroll through my timeline on the Fediverse, I can simply see the most shared, liked, and commented-on posts from the networks *I decided to follow*. I know I'll still miss some good posts, but that's how I discover good ones I missed.

The JSON field `quote_approval.current_user` of a Status entity will either contain `automatic`, `manual`, `denied` or `unsupported_policy`. We'll consider everything but `denied` as quotable.
If the field doesn't exist, for retro-compatibility, we'll use a default `d`.

In the commit you'll see that we compare the first character of that field to `d`, this is much tighter size-wise than an strcmp().
