My ground phlox (possibly Phlox subulata/moss phlox) has achieved blanket status.

I'm a sucker for mass blooms. A friend of mine has large swaths of this phlox & was kind enough to borrow me a cup 2 yrs ago. A cup that was 1.5' x 2' chunk that I then plopped down in a 1.5' x 2' space.

Easy peasy phlox carpet squee-sy.

The flowers have five, heart-shaped, pale purple feathers that radiate from a narrow central cone. Each petal has two, small, purple dots where the bloom meets the central cone. Two orange anthers are visible in the center of the cone while the other reproductive organs are interior to the cone.

I've written enough Postcards to Voters — I'm writing 10 right now for a Supreme Court election in Georgia — that I need to buy more postcards.

We have lots of artists here; does anyone sell postcards? I'm looking to buy about 100 with possible re-orders. The art must be nonpolitical and something that will make people want to read the cards. Pictures of animals, flowers, landscapes and such are all good. (My current ones have a bird.)

People often think of California as nothing but desert. Let me change your mind. If that is true, than this is what the desert looks like after a rainy winter. This is a California wildflower super bloom at sunrise. Poppies & wildflowers as far as I could see covering this hills. One of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
