Minimal case of starting a #lisp #ecl image outside of emacs running common lisp interface manager, then connecting to the image from inside emacs - working with mcclim, closing emacs, the external lisp image with the gui created in emacs is still there. Party trick for days.

This is the necessary precedent for writing exciting using-clim-as-intended articles. Also I have an emacs folder now.

A default-looking gui window. hel has been partially typed at the bold Command: prompt, which will autocomplete to Help presumably.

Autocompleted help, autocompleted help topic, Commands (i.e. list currently available expert shell commands), autocompleting q -uit. CLIM default looking gui.

The graphviz dot graph of the world, but now with EGBERTS addition to it. Thank you Egbert, firing on all cylinders. Egbert connected Egbert's GARDEN to screwtape's MOUNTAIN-TRAIL, attaching to the directed graph only there. Egbert's Garden is also connected to EGBERTS-HOUSE.

A graphviz dot graph (idk, ask some bell labs people) having three separate clusters: SCREWTAPES, GAME0 and GAME1 filled with various rooms, and directed edges connecting both within and between clusters. It's grayscale and a bit messy. Edge sources are speculatively labelled with compass directions, that were not enforced.

could I get you two's (et al.'s) opinions on my conference paper idea for #ELS2025:

I eventually scrapped together a 3 element Winograd #FFT that was compatible with Waters' Series 1400 line expansion. This year's theme is "going beyond macros" and Series is kinda beyond other macros.

I did it by hand to figure things out, but later I could cover/follow Sidney Burrus' PFA program-generation book, but for #lisp, with Series (instead of Fortran).

mdhughes' minimal game grid + game output pane + game input command pane. The green grid squares contain letters. Upon going north "N", you get text like You see O if the letter O was in that grid square. There are other commands like New, Look, say (and describe, help, and quit).
It's running in my stock openbsd fvwm.

So my question is, what's an intuitive way to use dropping-in- #fortran from the #lisp #repl ?
Reading a .f file ~ into a let* form which I'm currently doing seems kind of bland. #f( this(1) = is(2) + a / fortran * line) seems kind of uninspiring (who would want to express themselves like this). Maybe Enter "fortran mode" and read lines of fortran from *standard-input* with normal interactive evaluation hacked in?

The fortran becomes #series expressions in lisp.
