Hi all and especially the amazing Linux and more specifically, Linux Mint people who could possibly help me out once again.
As always, the various search engines are coming up with everything I don't need help with.
I have a 2TB external drive which is in 3 partitions. I can see all the existing files and folders. However, I am backing up some music folders onto it and here is the issue. The backed up folders are not visible and after copying IDK, about 20+ folders, I get an error:
Error creating directory /media/rose/WD Passport/Music/BLUES: Input/output error
I tried Disks and GParted to fix but no use. I'm trying to run fsck on it but am failing as it won't accept my bloody password even though I use it all the time (of course!). If I try to re-copy one of the folders I get the usual message asking what I want to do with it (merge etc) and with most, I can then replace/skip etc. So it's sounds like a bad sector or something, hence the disk utils and fsck. There's plenty of space left on it, about 1/2 TB.
Any / all offers of help will be happily put to the test.
