So I read a bit on #Slackware #Linux. but still curious. Is the Slackware does not handle dependency statement true? Or is it just not handled by default but if you use some third-party tools you get dependencies resolved apt/pacman style? Also related to this, I saw videos / tutorials on installing the systems, so it is generally recommended to simply install tons of packages you might not need in the first place just so when you need them or any other thing that might need something there as dependencies and you will have them already? Seems like trying to do a one-thing-fit-all style to me.

TIL again, about low ram footprint editors in OpenSource environments.

Such editors were standard. I'm talking about vi. Over extremely noisy POTS lines without error correction, vi was the only editor you could use safely. I remember switching from editing mode to reading mode as frequently as possible, because the 2400 BPS modem from the SR University, had difficulty to keep the line as noise free as possible due to the archaic hardware infrastructure of the phone company.
The editor I'm learning again about is nvi
I'm going to take a deep dive into this, because one thing I love is using the least memory as possible while computing

I'm wondering, Valve developed the awesome Proton compatibility layer for games, can they use that for general windows applications? I've been trying to find replacement for Adobe Lightroom and how to use existing my LR presets.
I also came to understand that Adobe softwares are bitches to run on Linux under Wine......
