I have like zero respect left for developers who use LLMs to write or maintain their software.
I don't even care for the reasons why they use this unethical piece of... technology.
Technology trained on data they don't own. Technology owned and shaped by fascists. Technology that sends its crawlers around the globe to suck every bit they can find to dump their models into big f***ing corp data centers. Data centers that are polluting the air with their big ass gas plants.
But hey! "Leave ethics aside". "That's how software development works today!".
I'm so sick of this and about everyone supporting this industry.
If you feel targeted, you are welcome. I have zero respect for you or your software garbage. I just wish you the worst.

The announcements at #wwdc26 confirm the shift: the tech industry is moving from simple cloud storage to total cloud dependency.
Break the dependency cycle. #lucentOS keeps offline as the absolute default workflow. Your files stay on your local storage unless you choose otherwise.
Roadmap to launch: https://github.com/dixon-team-tech/lucentOS
👋 Hello! We are the team behind lucentOS and fijiOS.
We believe your operating system should be a private digital vault, not a corporate surveillance terminal. No telemetry and no forced cloud lock-in. Just clean, premium desktop environments built on a hardened Fedora foundation with absolute user autonomy.
💻 Our codebase is completely open and auditable.
🚀 Launching November 2026.

my #linux UI hot take is that GNOME is actually better for getting people to adopt linux than KDE Plasma, including for those who are familiar with ms windows
if someone is transitioning to an entirely different operating system and user interface, you might think that starting off with something that looks a lot like windows might help, but what it really does is implant an expectation of "oh, things will basically be the same here" that inevitably leads to disappointment and regret when it eventually doesn't
in my opinion, it is healthier to start with something that doesn't look like either windows or macOS, and has its own design ideology, and let the user build up new habits and skills as they figure out that while some things will be familiar enough (such as overall concepts of windows, files and folders, drag and drop), other things are very different (no drive letters, software installable via repositories, perhaps even the command line)
