I have been hearing some concerns about Linux Mint's ability to maintain the Cinnamon desktop.

As in they don't have the resources and developers to manage the conflicts with the newer GTK versions and keeping up with what needs to be done in Cinnamon.

Do you think those concerns are overblown? Or legitimate?

In any case, I am glad that I considered XFCE as an alternative to Cinnamon and I am having a good time exploring and customizing XFCE now.

I am actually kind of amazed it was so easy for me to build gmake 3.80 from 2002 for arm64.

All I needed was to use an old Linaro toolchain, copy over some files, and…

I was helping an open-source app become more #accessible yesterday and we ran into the problem that it looks like #screenReader Orca has a bit of a tendency to crash when exposed to webkitGTK applications. I've not done Desktop #linux for a long time and have no idea what the workarounds for this would be, does anyone know anyone who might know what's happening here? Can someone give me a quick recommendation for an encrypted #chatApp that is suitable for legal discussion and allows group chats? Voice chats a plus but not strictly necessary. Ideally runs on #Linux #Android and #Windows with #iOS an added bonus.
